Should I even bother with my Drive 60? It comes with free lifetime lower 48 but I kind of want to have the entire NA continent.
It looks like I would have to re-patch it after every map update since Garmin Express won't let you download the map until the firmware it updated to the latest?

Firmware is not updated every Map update ,the group with HWID 2268 (Drive, DriveSmart 60/70, software version 6.10) didn't have a
Firmware update for 4 years until the 2nd quarter of this year.
6.00 was available Nov 08, 2020
6.10 the latest May 1, 2024
Patch kits generally have the
Firmware advanced by 1 or 2 to 6.12 so Garmin Express won't overwrite it with 6.10.

Hi.
Great forum.
Is there a patch or patched firmware for the Echomap plus 72CV out there?
I am searching, but can not find any.

Thanks.
I had updated with the echoMAPwithSDCard_2024.08.05.rar, that`s probably not patched.
Then i`m on track.
Hopefully it can be reflashed with the patched file.

It worked :-) Thanks.
Feedback.
I updated wrongly my Echomap plus 72CS with the newest non patched software. That led to non working patched maps.
Due to ignatsmirnov, I was pointed in the right direction. I choosed the right software, the one that was patched, and the nav-unit could be updated with it, no downgrading neccesary.
The original software is numbered 13.40, but the patched one is 13.41, no issues with this, it worked well.

Anyone got a patch for a chinese navigator 5? HWID is 1982, thanks.
Is it even possible to turn it into a european nav?

I cannot find the
firmware to
patch, look in the device for GUPDATE.GCD or make a copy of your garmindevice.xml and put both into my Drop Folder
BMWNavV Japan | 1982 | 230 | MAP: Yes | GMA: Yes | MSV:
Weak | GVS: Yes | File: BMWNavV,China_GCDfileonly__230.gcd
MSV:
Weak - it verifies the validity of map signatures in a simple way, you can unlock an .img using gimgunlock-0.04 (without patching your
firmware), but in case of unicode maps (CP65001) you must modify the CP value

Thanks boss, it would seem that the chinese market navigator has a file called "gmapupdate.gsd" instead of "gupdate.gcd".
I dont have access to write in your folder, so i have uploaded it .
Will try the map unlocker on the euro maps i put onto it.

I was able to get the gupdate.gcd with your garmindevice.xml and run the Patching software with OK for MSV ,GVS & signature removed as normal on other Asian devices, but I don't have this device to test. MasterCard reports the
Patch is working

Make sure your device is fully charged.
Unpack contents to fresh SD card formatted FAT32
Ensure your device is fully OFF (not in standby), insert the card in device and power on.(You can use the Power Cable to power on if the battery is in poor condition)
"Loader" will appear on screen for a while then the device will boot up when the flash of patched firmware is complete.
Your device may reboot its self during the process just be patient.

Hi,
Would it be possible to apply the universal firmware patcher to a Garmin Alpha 100 already patched with Alpha regional limitation patcher?
Currently with version 8.60 installed on the machine.
If it is possible, how to do it correctly?
Thanks.

I have used the SD card
patch, the chinese GPS now works without an issue with genuine garmin maps. Thank you, boss.

Welcome to the forum .
Assuming your device is HWID 1562 it does not need to be Patched as you can change the CP value on maps that are NTU
MSV:
Weak - it verifies the validity of map signatures in a simple way, you can unlock an .img using gimgunlock-0.04 (
without patching your firmware), but in case of unicode maps (CP65001) you must modify the CP value.
Alpha 100 | 1562 | 860 | MAP: Yes | GMA: Yes | MSV:
Weak | GVS: --- | File: Alpha100_860.gcd
But here is the Patched
firmware- Hidden Content
