Hi all, I have a 2017 mk9 UK Civic, the very last of the mk9 models with the Honda Connect firmware. The Garmin Express app on my PC says the 2023 maps I bought are the latest available, but I believe there might be a hack to get newer map files installed? Am I right in thinking technically the Honda/Garmin app can read newer maps but the company has simply decided to stop offering them ...

was not sure if my Honda CRV 2018 navigation system needs to be patched to install unlocked maps so as a test, I copied gmapsupp.img and gmap3d.img to the Garmin folder of the USB drive it did update to the 2024 version. the reason I only copied these 2 files is because those are the only files from the .RAR files above that has the same file names as in the Garmin folder.

This car has had its maps updated (it took HOURS !!! :-)) but I cannot see any way to get it to show speed and safety camera warnings. Is there a way to get it to do that or alternatively can I add a speed camera database manually in some cunning way ?

I have downloaded newest map via Garmin Express but when trying to upload maps, the app is showing that there is no space left for the maps.
Is there any way to clear current maps and then try to upload new maps?

Hello guys,

Recently I purchased and imported a Honda CRV 2021 from CANDA to Saudi Arabia.
The vehicle came with a Garmin navigation application which included "North America maps" which are useless in my place.

My inquiry: Can I replace those maps with the Middle East Garmin map?
If possible using an unlocked map then much better, if not then I have no issue buying the genuine Middle East map.

Please advise.
