I've had another good look around at everything I still have.
Surprise, I also have a Start 20 and a Via 135.
If you can tell me the exact version number of which map you're trying to install, I'll try the same one here.
If that doesn't work, I'll use a different map with a meta available.

That won't work with the Start 20, the data port is defective and the motherboard is too damaged.
The same problem with the Via 135.
Both do support an SDHC card.
Could you use R-Link Explorer to get a new map?
That will be a test later this week.

Hello pe1agp,
if I understand correctly, it's not working for you either on a Start 20 with the France v1160 map.
So you're advising me to use R-Link Explorer to install the road map onto a micro SD card inserted in the GPS.
I'm not familiar with R-Link Explorer at all. I'll try it out anyway. I'll get back to you with the results.

From mine Start 20 is the USB port broken.
I've to search if I have a manual for R-Linkexplorer
It could be also available here, I'm not sur about that

Hello pe1agp,
I'm having trouble managing my micro SD card.
I've used two different 16GB micro SD cards.
If I format the micro SD card on the GPS and then insert it into my PC to download the France v1160 map (just under 1GB), TTActivator tells me at the end of the process that it failed due to insufficient space on the micro SD card.
If I format the micro SD card to FAT32 on my PC, then I can download the France map onto it using TTActivator.
But then, when I insert it into the GPS, the GPS asks me to format it again!

Hello pe1agp,
I performed a full factory reset in Settings, then a factory reset (long press until the black screen with the device specifications in white appears).
But I'm still experiencing the same microSD card management problem I mentioned earlier.

Unfortunately, I can no longer perform the test here. The data lines on both of my old devices are too damaged.
They still work, but the Start 20 now exhibits the same behavior you described and ends up in an endless loop with a Benelux map.
I can't interrupt it to format an SDHC card.
It'll be a real puzzle to recover those data tapes. I don't have an example of that; the entire connector was ripped off the board, and I don't even remember who left it there.
I'll give it another try sometime.
