Tomtom start 20 maps update help

hi i have just found my old tomtom start 20 with serial number starting in AY, i have read that it gets lifetime map updates.
my current old map version is western Europe v945.6173 date 2/2015
can some one help me to update the maps.

Have you connected it to your home wifi or installed MyDrive Connect software?

it does not have wifi.
i have connected to myDrive connect and its updating now.
how can i update camera alerts without paying.

its taking around an hour.
Is there a faster way to download the updates.
OR
it has to be only through MyDrive Connect on my pc

I realise that you don't want to be inconvenienced or pay for anything but Europe is always going to be a large map to download...

yes thats true, all updated
The cameras need updating is there any way to do them without paying like OV2 file

will this tutorial work only to update the speed cameras / safety cameras.
as this Tomtom has got serial number AY so its lifetime map updates.
My Questions.
1) i have to patch my tomtom with lifetime updates to use the above tutorial and then updates the speed cameras / safety cameras.
2) Once updated on my tomtom i will have to reboot via the TT activator for the speed cameras / safety cameras to work.
3) Are all Tomtom model number 4EN42Z1230 starting with serial number come with lifetime map updates vial the Tomtom my drive connect.

I have got a 32 gb micro sd card, my plan is to install all the maps available v 11.70 on my drive connect onto my micro sd card.
on my drive connect it says active for all the maps and they are available.
i will keep this on stock.

i have got another one which also has the same serial number AY prefix, i had to patch it to experiment, this does not show any lifetime map updates when i connect to my drive connect.
i have tried to install the speed cameras bu TT activator but the speed cameras dont show up.
how do i get my cameras to work on the other tomtom go

can anyone please help me to add uk safety cameras to my tomtom.
i am using the TTactivator and have added them to device and in the rebooted the device
but the cameras dont show on the device.
What am i not doing correctly.
