QuickfixGPS

Postby bondy99 » Wed Dec 03, 2025 12:54 am

Hi,
I have a question to ask about QuickfixGPS and the TomTom XXL540 IQ Routes device I use.

Recently I downloaded QuickfixGPS and ran it as Administrator in the "ephem" folder, it took some time to open.

It downloaded both sets of chipsets, and said successfully installed.

It downloaded ee_meta.flv; ee_meta txt; ito dat; cbee.cbee and another file.

Not only for GlobalLocate but also Still or Star something.

I was under the impression my device only has one chip which is GlobalLocate. or is mine a hybrid and has two?

Thanks

A TomTom motherboard will only have one chipset, either a GlobalLocate or a SirfStar...yours has a GlobalLocate

It's the GlobalLocate chipset devices that had the problem with displaying the time after the WNRO rollover

That's what I thought, yet I got one TomTom device working fine as it thinks it has a SirfStar. Since that one is working without hiccups (so far) I won't be doing any further tinkering with it

Yet the other one is still causing grief because GlobalLocate.
