just bought a cheapo one if poss.igo and am trying to get a voice to read the speed cams, prefer english kate if poss zip file. the unit seems pretty good for less than £50 ,used it for 3 days and routes ok.

With iGO8 to get the voice for speed cams you need to add a suitable skin and the voice pack, using iGO8's TTS isn't possible.
On primo it is, also adding a skin give more options.

It's not the TTS option, but it will give you voice alerts.

Looking at the known Primo version list, your Primo is v1.2.
The skin that fits this Primo version is [Please Register or Login to download file] . You should put it "as is", DO NOT unzip it, in content/skin folder (create it if does not exist).

The US English files can be [Please Register or Login to download file] . Take a look here to see how the file structure should look like. You already have the folder "ui_igo9". Create a folder named "Audio" (if it does not exist) inside this folder and unzip the "Audio_US_English.zip" into it.

Please read this detailed instruction of how to set it up (ignore the Hebrew files, HE should be US).

Did you load the skin?
In Primo main menu, select More -> Settings -> Display -> Day Skin Theme -> dimMka WA P.1.3.8 Day

After you select it, you need to restart the program.

Now, using the program's settings, the skin gives more options than the program itself.

This is the modified audio folder for my iGO8 program that will verbally announce an approaching red-light camera instead of making a sound. Just delete the audio folder in my program and copy/paste this one in its place.

These voices are in English. There is a member who couldn't get the audio to work [only a beep] until he went to the Dimka site and installed the 1.1.43b skin. Then all was fine. FYI, the member was not in the US.

For US - it says "red light camera" without adding the skin.

I'm not sure that this is what the user is looking for, unless you want him to install iGO8.
He is running Prim 9.2.0.191493, and your files are for iGO, ogg format. Primo use wav format files to announce voice alerts.

What have you done from the time you wrote "looks cool" until you wrote "not cool now", that couse the program to popup an error message? Why can't you restore from backup? where did you store the backup files, on your original SDcard?

we are back to cool now,whilst holding the unit my finger must have accidently deleted maps . the backup is on my lappy but i was onknowingly using an iffy cable so replaced that and restored old maps.

I am french, I had a tomtom before but everybody told to me that Igo is better so I decided to change it by Igo primo. I have a chineese radio-gps in my car with WIN CE 6.0
I have the IGO 8.5 (2010) It is running well but want to update it ! How can I do ? I looked inside the forum and I need to find a tutorial but .... ?
