Hello, I am new the the forum as I am looking for help to update my maps on my car radio. I just did a radio swap from a RES radio to a RHB 430N on my Dodge. The Application Software on the Radio is 60.00.03, however the firmware version on the Garmin Navagation is 2.90 and maps are 15 years old. From what I've been researching in order to update the maps I need to install NAV firmware 5.19 file name (gupdate.gcd) first. Then install the map Image City Navigator North America NT 2021.30. I'm going to use 2021.30 because that is the last file that the memory on the RHB 430N will take. I've seached the forums and am having trouble locating any specific info on this type of upgrade. Can anyone explain the procedure in detail and where I can locate these files that I need. I am aware that I have to have a FAT32 formated USB to place the files on, but am not clear on the procedure. Also I'm in Canada and live beside Lake Ontario, so putting just the Canadian maps on are also an option, but from what I've read my unit is currently loaded with City Navigator North America and am not sure if it will take just Canada without doing something different. I have also read that the RHB 430N has a engineering mode that may come into play. I want to be very cautious as I don't want to brick my NAV system. Thank you in advance for your assistance.
