UNLOCKING ANY GARMIN MAP

Will this work with Garmin Nuvi 860t? also where do i get the maps from? im looking for the latest european map as this one has never been updated, thanks

Ok, I just saw the same problems on a friends computer. Took his GPSmap64 to my computer and everything works fine. Since he was unable to fullfill the first steps it might be a difference within the tools used.
I'm using imgTool 1.9.4 and gimgunlock.exe with a file date 17.07.2014. I was unable to see what file version it is.
It could also be a problem with the virus protection or the operating system. Try to disable the virus protection before changing the img-file. And I have Win7 as OS, maybe a newer OS could be the problem?
No further idea right now, sorry.

I have Garmin dezl 570 LMT with the US, Canada and Mexico maps and I need to install Europe maps, is this possible? and if it is how?

- With a empty sdcard make a folder 'GARMIN' and placed inside the unlocked image file for Europe.
- Boot your satnav and see if it reads.
If its still locked your unit may have the latest protection so follow post #29 by @OldMan0815 and run the img through gimgtools 0.03 and then set the codepade to 1252 using ImgTool 1.9x

Just to be sure, is that mean that my device will work with EU maps? Can I delete USA, Can, Mexico maps and will my device work then ?
I need that for Truck mode.

dont delete the NA and mex maps. The unit reads maps in the internal card and SD card so if you have a 16/32gb SDcard you can put europe maps inside. I name my maps on the sdcard 'gmapsupp-{map_region}-{map_version}.img'

It was very helpful for me... after waste a lot of time UNLOCKING MAPS new garmin device still saying "CANT UNLOCK MAPS"... WTF!!!

Then , reading (wasting lot of time) I see that recentrly selled Garmin devices have a protected Firmware, that need no to be flashed to accept unlocked maps...

HI I have unlocked my map,

but still my nuvicam doesn't recognize it, it still says "CANNOT UNLOCK MAPS" but the maps are already unlocked, can anybody help me what to do?

Great forum - have learned lots of things so far about my new nuvi 2689.

But can someone please explain how to "patch the firmware" in order to accept unlocked maps?
As the PGFT states the IMG is not locked, but the nuvi says it is.

What do I do with the "gupdate.gcd" file?
Also I can't seem to access the device properly with "garmin.express", as everything seems to be managed by this. Downloading new software is done by "express"
