TT go 730 north american map

hi looking for some help, i want to update map on my go 730, can i get some links for latest north America map for go 730, and some advice too if possible,

Your Go 730 should be running navcore 9.510, if not let TomTom Home software update it for you to that level.

NC 9.510 will let you use a fully featured map with Advanced Lane Guidance etc so the following map should suit your needs and also has meta released so you'll have no problems with activation:

Northern_US_and_Canada_970_7466 = 820.39 MB

Once downloaded:
1. Backup your device using Windows Explorer
2. Move the old map folder from your device to your desktop
3. Extract new map folder to your device (PW: navitotal)
4. Extract FastActivate to the root of your device
5. Run FastActivate.exe from the device and select options 2 & 3
6. Disconnect device from PC and reboot it....job done

thanks fredderf, very well explained..........i checked my nc is 9.510 downloading map 970-7466 its 2 files and downloading speed is very slow...just waiting to finish the downloads. then i will give it a try.. i more question there are many maps for north America 970-7466/68/91/92/94 are those for other TT models !!

installed map as you said but problem is after reboot it shows "problem with map you cannot use this map on this device : Northern_US_and_Canada-100772....so cant not use this map...any suggestion...thanks I guess some activation problem how to activate map now...

You need to re-run step 5 above as it appears that the map isn't activated

FastActivate should report Northern_US_and_Canada-100772.meta => dct OK

When successful a 'Northern_US_and_Canada-100772.meta.dct' file will be created in the map folder

No, not models...they are for different versions of navcore/ different map features/ different devices like Android etc as can be seen on the compatibility chart at the top of this page.

Being as you have a well spec'd device and the latest and best navcore, I have pointed you towards a 970.7466 map which has all of the bells and whistles like Advance Lane Guidance & IQ Routes etc

thanks Fredderf alll is good now, i did reset my gps, delete the old map extract the new map and ran the activatar option 2nd and 3rd, reboot the gps and every thing is working. tom tom home shows map up do date. do i get later updates free on this map or i have to install again some time..how you guys do that its my first time updating through this so i have no idea.... and also for the safe side i kept my old map on my sd card. so i can switch maps now..

1. Yes, TT posts free daily map updates, which you download thru TT Home.
2. NO.
3. Maps are Navcore specific, not model specific. As you know, different models use different Navcores, hence the different versions.
I have no idea why fredderf suggested you use a partial USA & C map, instead of the full USA & C map.

OK, just a minor language issue. To us North America means ALL of the USA & C, not just the northern part of the USA & C!!

thanks guys you guys are awesome, my tom tom is working fine now with suggested map..it is better then old version..specially lane guidance... but still a confusion my old map was 1.55 GB...while new and latest map is 970_7466 is only 961 MB.. i think its northern part of US and whole Canada..
can some one link me for whole US and Canada latest map.

i just downloaded the USA and Canada latest map...can i use both maps 1 in SD card. how to activate map is in a SD card!! i tried to activate SD card map, but did not work.when fast activator ask me to choose drive for map, when i choose SD card drive it don't work, when i press GPS actual drive it patches SD card map. but when i try that map on GPS it don't work....is there other way to activate 2nd map (SD) card Map.

It will work if you copy ttgo.bif from your device to the root of the SD card. It needs that file to make an informed patch.

Put FastActivate.exe & a copy of your ttgo.bif file in the map folder on the card. Run Option 2
