Hi Chaps...

Looking for some info on updating an Garmin nuvi 1310....

This is another, (can u update this for me please, type job)... and to be honest if it was a tomtom, I probably wouldn't have a problem.

But I've never used a garmin, so slightly steep learning curve.
From what I have found so far, is the following:

I believe I need "City Navigator" Europe NT UK & Ireland. (bit of guess work here).

But that is as far as I have got,...
I have seen the following files available:
"MS Lock"
" IMG.UNL"
"3D UNL"
"LaneAssistFull_JCV"
"Full-Screen_JCV"
"D2331220A.G2S"
"3790_ASR"
"EAST EU"
"WEST EU"
and I'm fairly sure I don't need all of them.... (I could be wrong though). I don't even know how to get them on to the device apart from the SD card slot.
I'd appreciate some help and guidance please chaps... cheers, sadsack.
p.s. are the above for different devices ??

Hi! Sorry for the late reply! If i realized well you have already download the file of City Navigator so what you need is to transfer the files on the device in case you don't have an SD card.
So you need to connect your device in a PC in USB and see the directories of the device. In some devices is needed to put them in mass storage mode. Once you see the directories of the device should exist one with the mane \Garmin and there should be the maps with extension .img (gmapsupp.img or gmapprom.img) you have to copy there the same file from those that you have already downloaded.
If i remember well your device support also junctions view so you may also copy the .JCV files in the directory where exist such kind of files. In some devices the maps exist in a hidden directory named .system.

I ended up getting my mate to purchase two 8gb sandisk cards..... I got the latest 2017.10 unlocked city navigator and did as you said.... worked like a dream.....
I've told him it's done and he's over the moon.

Should keep him happy for a few months. lol
