POI

Postby franka » Wed Sep 24, 2014 5:19 pm

I am using primo2.4 ver 9.6.13.405512.

If i load the diMka_WA_P174 skin and then go to settings/map settings/place markers to set the POI's, as i scroll through the place markers then once i have scrolled two pages on selecting the third page i get the message "failed to open POI_MAPCLOSE.spr exiting application".

If i do not load a skin, or i load the "Decent color ver 6.5.1" skin this does not happen.

Can anyone tell me why this happens, and what is a .spr file.

Thankyou

A .spr file is just a file within the skin.zip. when you get the error message you have been getting, it means exactly that, the file referenced is missing from your device's resolution folder inside the zip file.

In most cases you can copy it from another resolution's folder into yours, although note there may be multiple files with the same name located in the sub folders. You should copy these as well.

All now working. Thanks for your very quick reply.

I am having a similar problem with diMkaWA P174, 800x480 resolution.

On the 3rd page of Place Markers, I get the error message failed to open file POI_GROUP.SPR. Without the skin it works fine.

I have searched the entire diMkaWA_P174.zip and nowhere can I find any POI_GROUP.SPR file. Any help is appreciated.

Hey katastrofe you are definitely NOT a Catastrophe, you are the man! Works perfectly on my 800x480 GPS, now I only need the 480x272 branding.zip version for my older GPS.

I am wondering where did you get this file from? Does this Dimka guy/guys have a website or an official forum? I searched the Internet for days and could not find a working solution for the problem. BTW, this is the BEST skin ever.

Thanks again!

I don't know where I got the file from, or better the download from.
In my downloaded copy of 405512, the one that is on PC, I discovered that branding by coincidence. Only I have a 480*272 device and I did not install a branding - Primo don't need it, standard branding.zip is empty. I never saw the POI-sprite-issue while using dimka skin myself, so possibly 480*272 is not touched?

I am sorry, I didn't understand you. Which branding.zip are you using on your Primo 2.4 480x272 with the diMkaWA_P174? I tried a bunch of different branding.zip files including the default one with ONLY branding.ini file in it and I get the error with all of them.

No branding installed at all.
The battery is empty. I will test tomorrow if I can create the error.

OK, I just deleted the branding.zip and still getting the error. It would be interesting to see if you get the error.

I think my battery has chosen to die softly :( the thing keeps loading forever.
Leaving it plugged in the wall socket, I tried a lot in POI settings but can't produce a poi_group_spr error.
There is no branding.zip in my primo set up and my device is 480*272.
