IGO Primo - Poi Update

IGO Primo - Poi Update

Postby KOsmix » Wed Aug 10, 2011 1:16 pm

I have a Mio Spirit 480 device (Win CE 6, unlocked with Visual) and I want to know if there is any tool to update my poi file for a certain country: i want to see the existing POIs and to add new ones (like the ones downloaded from PoiPlaza).
Thanks!

A tool? Not that I know of.
But you can add POI files in the POI folder as much as you like. It will show all POI's, even the double (triple, ...) ones.

A ok, I understand. So if I add more POIs files then it will display all the POIs. But is some POIs are the same then they will appear twice on the map?

Ok, I understand. Do you know how I can edit/merge POIs files?

Just add the files in the POI folder and Primo wil take care.
However, don not overdo it. Too much POI files and you (your device) will get in to trouble.

Yes , there is a tool called "primopoi". It is developped by Hansiwenna , member of a certain German forum.(Search with Google)
It can download from several servers(Poiplaza,GPSData,Navifriends,Poigps,Pocketnavigation,GPSPassion, and others)
The first time you open the program, it asks which pois you want to have;then you can download them to a map of your choice.
Later , When you want to update your pois, it directly synchronyses them with the pois on the servers.

Of course , don't put too much pois on your device , otherwise your device will start very, very slowly
