INFO- M 3 leaving papago to focus on Primo

Postby limboonseng2 » Mon Sep 13, 2010 8:29 am

M 3 asia being awarded with IGO Primo exclusive distributor for Malaysia and Singpoare. with Primo being a far superior software in rendering. it is made to understand that M 3 will focus more of its resources on Primo. :greeting_mini:

So don;t expect anythings major in term of Papago. It won't be surprise Maction will be seeking new partners.

It's really a good news
If really M3 asia being awarded with IGO Primo exclusive distributor for Malaysia and Singpoare, I guess they sure will not using the Stone age map
M3 using will do what they usually do, search the freemap community Like MFM-Papago map, get Zero Cost on the Map and get High profit on the product or Software :diablo:
Don't know whether they will use MFM or MSM, either one, since MSM stick on Garmin partnership, give up compile Mapking map, I think MSM won't involve on iGO,
If MFM compile iGO map for M3, it is a big shock what relationship between MFM admin and M3.
I waiting a ticket to watch the new movie :55:

that because there is no such postal code data inside primo, their search engine is also pridictive like papago. yellow page search engine is very good in agis, If i am not wrong. but I never use it before.

Hi,

The software is good. But the maps sucks. The map search double sucks. I don't understand why you need to key in the city before you can search. Most times, the road or POI are placed in wrong city or wrong area and you can't find it! This is the same problem with TomTom, Sygic, Polnav, NDrive, or other TeleAtlas based maps. Garmin is quite OK because you can search by Name.

Hopefully, if MFM create maps, it will change the method similar to PPG. with good software + accurate and good map, they will take this region by storm. But I wonder how are they going to market. Since iGo focus only on software, are they going to install on WayWay? Can we just buy the software and install on generic PND?

Guess we will just wait and see,

Regards,

gpsforever

hi to all,

i am much prefer that MFM stays with garmin and papago mapping work. just do not add more work to an already tonnes of load. the regional mappers and free POIs from the mappers and forumers have always been very helpful in making the both maps resourceful and efficient to use.

to all MFM mappers and renderers out there, IMHO just forget about iGO altogether. concentrate on what you already have and make them work superbly. improve on it (of course with help from forumers). you have been doing a great job and i (maybe others as well) hope you will continue to do so in the future. garmin and papago are more than enough for most of us. there are still compatibility issues of current maps with papago version x6 and x7. that in itself is a lot of work.

anyways, thanks to MFM mappers and renderers for their fine job.

Really? That is good news! I find that iGO Primo's map rendering is silky smooth, the best among all the navigation software. Papago is already good and iGO is even better (but not sure about its search engine and POIs)! If it could pair up with an updated tele-atlas map or MFM map, iGO will be awesome! Looking forward to the updated maps!

M3 is preparing to ditch papago. Now...all originall papago hardware is dump in the market at RM555.00 from RM849.00.
Wow...

That is a huge discount. considering, it is even cheaper than the china made wayway.

After 6 months there is still no new map from malfreemap. M 3 is in total frustration.
They plan to load the existing wayway wit Primo.

Just wait...and seee..
