That's easy to answer. The GO backup had all of the required files & correct emu set for Simon to talk, the other navcores didn't. AND/OR you might have tried some navcores that don't support TTS.

Thanks. How do I figure out which emus and files made it work? I just want to get hopefully 9.510 working with simon on my one Xl.

Which emu is that go backup I used? At least then I can narrow it down.

I seem to have gotten it to work. I erased SD card then installed "9.485 Full backup for GO models". Simon and maps all work good. I erase files (but not folders) from SD card then install "9.510 for the XL series". Everything still work, so maybe that's it.
One question is at some point I changed EMU and it asked for screen touch calibration. I think I mess it up and missed one point because now when I go to change a check box, I have to touch way above it to make it check. How do I make it recalibrate again?

1. Thanx for the update.
2. OK.
3. Doing it this way has nothing to do with it still working. A full 9.510 overwrite over the full 9.485, would have served you just as well, if not better. FYI, I always do a full overwrite, unless I'm doing something different for testing purposes.
4. Click here: Touchscreen calibration

Hi all,

New to the forum.

I'm trying to revive an old One XL-S and found this thread. Was going to install the 9.485 navcore, but all of the download links are jacked and the torrent is dead, dead, dead.

Does anyone happen have a link to the 9.485 auto installer from downunder?

Thank you for that link. It turns out that the Universal NavCore installer worked just fine when I restored the LoquendoTTS folder before installing.

Ok, it sounds like it's running out of available RAM so you should try one of Holyhead's excellent navcores for a 32MB device...see here

Holyhead's does it but no sound. I think someone has update the TT too a few years ago. The bootloader is 55.274 and i think it's not the right one. I read something on the site worldofnavigation a few years ago that it is possible to down grade the bootloader but i don't now anymore how.

The bootloader will no effect on the sound so leave that for now.

Downunder has a NC 9.510 for 32MB devices with an inbuilt fix for the sound problem that should sort it out...I've uploaded it for you [Please Register or Login to download file]
