[TT Go 720 ] You are not allowed to use this map

Postby totakeke » Sat Mar 16, 2013 11:33 am

Hi everybody,
I've got a Tomtom Go 720, navcore 9.465 (bough with western europe map 710.1649 on it) and now I'm trying to install USA+Canada maps on it (or on a SD card).
I've downloaded on Navitotal on this page the "Western_US_and_Canada_900_4610 with Automatic Installer & Patcher " pack. Seams to be compatible with my navcore.

But after I ran it through my SD card, my Tomtom says I not allowed to use this map... I've followed the tutorial and instructions the auto installer/patch.
I've tried to install the pack on the internal memory of the Tomtom but when I do this, it blocked on the Tomtom logo when it starts... (I'm forced to get back on my original backup).

Have you any idea of what can I do ?
Navcore error or something I could I done wrong ?
Should I try to download USA+Canada maps v.710.1649 like the original Europe map ?
I've never tried to unlock my Tomtom so I'm a little lost.

TT Current config
TTGO.BIF:
DeviceName=TomTom GO 720
DeviceVersionHW=GO 720
BootLoaderVersion=55120
ApplicationVersionVersionNumber=9465
ApplicationVersion=1074274.1
CurrentMap=Western_Europe
CurrentMapVersion=710.1649
TTGO.BAK:
Not Found...
TTGO.ORI:
Not Found...
TTNAVIGATOR.BIF:
Not Found...

Thanks for anyone who can help (would be great if I could run this map before Tuesday 19th March !)
Greating from France.

I've never seen any error message on a Tomtom saying "not allowed to use this map".
There is a big red note in the 900 and the current 905 map:
A map can't be activated until a meta code is posted with it !!!
Do think this big red note might have been there for a reason? ;)

My tomtom is in French so if I translate the error code, it could be "not allowed" or "You cannot use this map on this device".

I've not used to all the files needed to unlock tomtoms. Sorry for the missed red note...

But if I download the USA and Canada 890.4235 with Automatic Installer & Patcher on this page, there is "USA_and_Canada v890.4235
11 70 30 F5 9C AD 2E A9 F8 F1 70 6C 75 6E 3A 98 USA_and_Canada-572.meta.
So is it gonna works ?

What I need to do with these codes/numbers ?

1. You are using the wrong map for your device & navcore. If you need Canada, you want North_America v900.4602. If you don't need Canada, you want United_States_2GB v900.4602.
2. Forget the Automatic Installer & Patcher version. Download & unzip the map on your desktop. Put a copy of FastActivate 09.03.2013 & a copy of your 720's ttgo.bif file in the unzipped map folder. Run FastActivate to patch the map.
3. Remove the old map folder from your device. Copy in the new map folder.
4. To patch the 9.465 navcore, download 9.465 SE ttsystem.rar. Unzip & copy the ttsystem file into your device, replacing the current ttsystem file.
5. Disconnect & reboot the device.
DONE!!

Thanks a lot ! It works like a charm !
Can I take the risk to open it with TomtomHome for maps updates ?

Edit : I've put my Western Europe map on my SD and works like a charm too.

You are Welcome. Enjoy!!

Yes, there is no risk involved. You can load USA & C speed cams also. They are FREE, but with a patched map, the cams must also be patched using FastActive. They only need patching 1 time. No re-patch needed for Cam updates.

Go TT Home, Add Traffic, Voices and other services, Safety Cameras. Install the files & patch with your patcher.
