USA & Canada 4608 or 4609

TomTom Home says the newest maps for my One XL S is USA_and_Canada_900_4609. As of today, there is still no meta for this map, but there is a meta for United_States_900_4608. The latest map chart shows the same options for 4608 & 4609, so my question is what is the difference between the 4608 & 4609 maps (besides the one map obviously doesn't have Canada)?

Different maps are required for the many different TT models & navcores. Besides the different features listed in the Compat. chart, there are also unpublished differences. If you will notice, the US 4608 & 4609 maps are different sizes, and the USA&C 4608 & 4609 map sizes are also different.

Yes, I noticed that, that's why I am asking what the differences are since I can't tell. If the 4608 will work on my One XLS, then I will use it. The 4609 file has a USA_and_Canada-671.meta file, which I thought was needed to use the map, but FastActivate will not activate the map.

1. Download a 4608 & a 4609 map to compare the folder & file sizes.
2. A 4608 map will function with any navcore.
3. Where are you seeing this meta?

1. I did download both files, and the files are different sizes. But I don't know what makes them different, different POI listings? Better map details? Less map info? What makes a 4608 a 4608 and not a 4609, if they are both full USA maps?

Inside the 4609 archive is that USA_and_Canada-671.meta file, in the map directory. The 4608 archive also has its own .meta file. Isn't this what FastActivate needs?

1. The names of the folders & files that are different sizes should be a clue.
2. No, this isn't what FastActivate needs. It needs the meta/blowfish in the FastActivate Intergrated_meta.txt file.
At the present time, only the US 4608 & US 2GB 4602 maps have the required meta/blowfish & are usable. None of the USA&C maps have the required meta/blowfish & are unusable.

Well I guess I could install the 4608 map, if it will work.
I guess there is no list of the various map versions that TT puts out and what they all mean (like what makes the 4608 different from the 4609)?
