gm4nsz wrote:Hi All. I have a TT One IQ with Navcore 9430 and have been successfully updating the maps, etc for a good while now. I have downloaded UK 980_7898 and the Meta data which I have cut-n-pasted into the META file - all as normal. I am using the latest version of FastActivate which looks like it also has the MetaData for this map included. I believe that this should all be compatible?

When I run FastActivate it tells me that the map is incomplete. Does this mean what it says - there is something missing, or that I have missed out a step this time? Help gratefully received :-)

Try an other small map i.e bnl.980.7991 and look if you got the same error (incomplete).
I don,t understand why to past the meta data. The meta data is already integrated in FastAktivate.

Thanks. It comes up with a .DCT Error on FastActivate. Not seen an error before so not sure what this is telling me :-(

My fault it must be Benelux 980_7971 but I suppose you have that one (BNL 980.7991 don,t excist) and is your navcore patched (use no.3 from FastAktivate)
Use the latest FastAktivate

Yes, all my updates from here have worked fine for several years - maps, speedcams, fuel, etc. This is the first error I've had over all that time on the 3 TomTom of various versions we have in the family. I know there are messages from TomTom about some older units not getting updates as the maps are getting too big. However, I thought that was just because of size and not map versions not being compatible.

I have just tried 980_7895 with the same result :-( Going to try a 975 map now.

OK, so there is an issue with the maps or META or something else. I have just loaded an old 945 map I had which has never been on this TT and the latest version of FastActivate has loaded it fine. The 975 map I tried didn't work either, even after pasting the metadata into the META file manually.

Can anyone tell me if I'm wasting my time trying to update past the 965 UK map I currently have, or am I missing something here?

I've read about some people having some strange problems with FastActivate recently. It hasn't affected anyone here yet & is still being investigated but for now:

1. Try another copy of FastActivate [Please Register or Login to download file]
2. Also try changing your PC's date to a few days earlier

Please let us know how you get on

OK, I've downloaded the other copy of FastActivate onto another pc and changed the date. Still shows the same error :-( Now at a loss. If I hadn't done this so many times before I would think it was me!

Just downloading the same map with the auto installer to see what difference that might make. Not sure I've used that system before but worth a try, I guess.

Just internal memory, but plenty of room for UK map.

Success! But in a roundabout way. Used the auto installer version of 980.7898 which placed the map on the TT, but still said it couldn't be used. Then ran FastActivate on that map load and it passed! Now working 100% after 3 days of grief. Not sure what the issue might be as I have no expertise other than how to download and activate maps, etc.

I'm glad you got round the problem but it's a shame we don't know the cause of it
