I have exactly the same device in my archive. So I used the next procedure

Internal I have the latest official navcore for this device with the map and it works stand alone.
So I did not delete intern.
On the SD Card, I placed the navcore 9510 DSA 32MB
I inserted the SD Card with the navcore 9510 in the One.
I gave the One a 15 sec reset.
After the reset, I started the One til the announcement no map found.
After that, I placed the map on the SD Card.
Then FastAktivate on the SD Card and I used it (map activated).
After that SD card in the One, a 15 sec reset again. Started the one and it works fine.
I don,t know where you got the navcore 9510 from.
I used the next for years and it alway,s worked.

4N00.005 is not the serialnumber. If there is no serialnumber on the device
then you have to look in the bif file (DeviceSerialNumber).

This makes no sense.
What are the first two digits of the deviceSerialNumber?
If you'd have installed the 9.510 navcore the ApplicationVersionVersionNumber would show this. Instead it mentions 6.560.
Did you start of with a empty device and did not overwrite the old files?

I still have not seen any indication that the bootloader is 5.5022.
I only see an info screen in post 12 but that is typical from intern and it says 5.50
On my One it is clearly 5.5022

I mentioned before in post 2

first, check your bootloader (stand alone and no connection with the PC).
Checking bootloader (the only reliable method)
Enter a device reset 15 sec.
Then turn on the device and hold the start button until you
get info screen. Which bootloader is there.
This info screen is different than the one from post 12

I will try the steps holyhead mentions with the navcore provided (post on outcome will follow)
In the mean time, this post will include information that answers the questions of Razorblatter. Below you can find the picture of the device info. I started with an empty device and have not overwritten the old files. As for the question of holyhead, in post 12 I posted the picture of the original TT nav and map. Below you will find the information as the TT one is currently set.

It is an TomTom ONE 2nd Edition, 1GB + SD 2GB. the same I have in my archive.
