Postby perot dominique » Mon Dec 07, 2015 10:11 am

Hello

But when installing a card he gets a reboot
I made a Sandisk
Run TomTom Clear Flash

Restoring from backup
delete MAPSETTING
low-level formatting
Restoring from backup
restore with TOMTOM HOME
old card or new card 960 he immediately reboot
could you advise me ?
Thank you

It could be the bootloader is too old, what Navcore did Home install on your device?
And what is your bootloader version number?

Usually a "Clean install" onto an empty device is the best way to rule out problems that might otherwise be missed.
If you really need to format the internal memeory of a TT, which should be avoided, use the HP USB format tool.
For a SD card use the format tool from SDCARD.ORG.
Delete, not format, all from the device / SD card, except the ttgo.bif.
Let Home update the device until no more updates are offered - follow the instruction by Home, you might need to repeat the update process several times until Home no longer offers any updates!
After that download a map (if not already done) that is compatible with your Navcore version (check the chart in the map thread) and has a meta code available.
Use FastActivate as linked in the map thread to activate the map and to patch the Navcore - update meta, patch Navcore, activate map.
Confirm the map is activate with the presence of a .DCT file that has the same name as the installed map.

In that case: delete everything from the hd. Restart the device and connect with pc.
TT Home will offer updates which you can install. (Do not install old map if offered).
4gb device is good, more than enough space to install Europe map.

You could have some file error on hd. Running chkdsk could indicate that.

By the way: your navcore version is the latest (9.540 or 9.510).
It could be that either currentmap.dat, currentlocation.dat or mapsettings.dat is causing a problem. Try deleting them.

Did you patch navcore and map?
Did you verify that map got patched by looking for the meta.dct file?
No panic, you will get there.

Edited/Corrected:
If you get a 'no maps found' error, your navcore isn't patched.
If you get a 'cannot use map' error, your map isn't patched

About the sector protection: Basically it ís an error which I have seen several times. I do not know exactly what it stands for nor how it could be corrected.
Luckily, I also never experienced a negative influence stemming from this 'missing sector protection' so I think you should not give it too much attention.

Could you check into your ttgo.bif file if it specifies an current map?

CurrentMapVersion=

Did you keep the mapsettings.dat file with the new map?
That can cause problems too.

If you still have NC 9.510 loaded on your device, then replace it's ttsystem file with the one in the line above.

hello tendriver

it does not work
format with diskpart → fat 32
reinstall with TOMTOM HOME
replace TTSYTEM of TENDRIVER
France installs _960_7075
Copy "FastActivate.exe" to your TomTom device internal or SD-Card ROOT

switch on gps ok
map ok
but after 30 seconds reboot

ttgo,bif → does not match → my version ?????
