Primo Alerts

Postby franka » Tue Dec 01, 2015 1:32 pm

Hi

i am using primo2.4.9.6.13.405512 with the diMkaWA_P174 skin. I have TTS Pro voice file running with a modified dictionary file to include TTS voices and alerts.

All is working perfectly except i only get speedcam announcements once. I would like these announcements to be repeated at least one more time.

What do i need to do/include for this to happen?

I don't know about the diMkaWA_P174 skin, but in the unskinned programme, in the <Sound and Warnings> menu you can change <Verbosity Level> between "Minimal" (one warning), "Compact" (two warnings), or "Verbose" (three warnings).

Is that what that is for?!?! I assumed that was the verbosity level of the normal TTS instructions - and not the speedcam announcements! Or does it affect both?

Oops small tired brain not thinking! Verbosity has nothing to do with it, you need some stuff in your sys.txt. If there is anything in your current sys.txt under any speedcam headings, can you post it as a reply and I'll let you know what to change or add.

In the [warning] section of your sys.txt, try removing the quotation marks from around the number string in the following setting:

warn_distances="130:1000,90:600,70:500,50:300,30:200" ; ~27 sec before the speedcam

I'm pretty sure the quotation marks are preventing iGO from seeing the setting

Some explanation might help if this works and you want to make other adjustments. These numbers are the initial warning distances, in the form speed(km/h):distance(metres) so for example 70:500 means that at 70 km/h you should get your first warning 500m before the speedcam. The speed here is your actual road speed, not the speed limit for the road you are travelling on, and the distance will apply up to the next higher speed in the list (90).

The repeat frequency is set in each [speedcam_category_x] section by the command "approach_beep_distances=xxx" where xxx is the distance in metres at which the warning is repeated. Yours all seem to be set at 150 which means at 70 km/h, after the initial warning at 500 m, you should get a repeat warnings at 350 m, 200m, and 50m from the camera.

I hope all this is clear, let me know how you get on
