Dear navitotal community,

I have recently got a garmin nuvi 1440 from my boss who has just bought a newer one.
When I looked at the device I saw that the maps where very outdated.
So I thought I could update them, downloaded the maps, looked in this: http://www.navitotal.com/showthread.php?9026-step-by-step-replacing-internal-map-on-nuvi-1xxx-2xxx-and-3xxx thread for the installation path.
After that I soon discovered that the internal space wasn't enough for Europe.
So what I did was I placed the maps on an SD card in the hope that it would work.
Unfortunately that didn't and now I have no clue on where to go from here.

This is the first time I work with a garmin system so I don't know what I should do next.

Can someone point me in the right direction?
