I'm confused

Postby drzcharlie » Fri Jun 18, 2010 3:30 pm

When referring to THIS thread I read two different things.

1. To place the new 2011 US Navigator file I first placed the .img file into the folder here

2. Then I read the above thread and assume you mean for the file to be placed here

Can someone enlighten me as to where (for sure) I am to place this. And how it becomes active once there.

Thanks

MAKE BACKUP YOUR DEVICE FILES FIRST !!!!

What is this gmapsupp.img.part file????

If you download these 2 files HERE

Unrar it first and then copy "City Navigator North America NT 2011.10.gmap"

(in XP - C:\Documents and Settings\All Users\Application Data\GARMIN\Maps)
(in Vista, Windows 7 - C:\ProgramData\GARMIN\maps)

Then use mapsource and you see map

So, what about the device? I hava a Nuvi 200w and a Nuvi 550. Does opening and using mapsource put the 2011 maps into the devices?

No, you have to send map set which you like to these devices, connect them to PC, and use button send to device from toolbar, like on picture bellow
