The map I currently have is the USA_and_Canada map v715.1712. I backed up my TomTom and put the folder into a rar file so I can fix the tom tom in case I mess anything up.


I am currently copying the 885.4094 US map to the device (USB-PC) and will be running the fastloader. My main questions are:

Should I try to update my app version from 8.010? IF so can someone link me the tutorial and suggest a version for my device?

What is the newest map for North America that will fit on my XL-S ?


I have just found this site and am browsing but alot of confusing information which I hope to grasp as I read more. And is it possible to use new updated maps, and is usable (think of is it using alot of 3G (mb's)
Because i live in the Netherlands we use 3G with mb data. So i must be durable to use.

I've spent the last few days reading so much, trying to answer the following the above question but i seem to have got myself all tied up.

What i have learnt so far is Lane Guidance is a map feature not a hardware feature. Now here comes my confusion....Am i right in thinking although it is a map feature the TT version 7.310 im running on my Navigo will not have a compatible map that has Lane Guidance (and will never because its a PDA version?).

If the above statement is true would it be better to run Igo Prime on my unit ? This seems to have what i want.

I have been looking at 2nd hand TT units and understand that if i purchase one of the older units i can then update it with different Navicores which will then be compatible with maps that have Lane Guidance.

Whilst looking on the auction site i noticed 7" Chinese units also seem to have features i am interested in, at a nice cheap price. However i am concerned that they may be poor build (software and hardware) and not up gradable in the future.

I like TT but have never used another system so i am not in a position to compare. I did read a thread posting from Downunder who thought people with the old Win units should maybe not think of TT first on their unit.

I suppose an easier way to put this is........Is it time to move on from my Navigo ?

I have a bit of another stupid question. I one posted in here with a question about map pack 880.3862, and even with an upcoming update of the 890, and my tomtom home trying to update my tomtom one iq routes to version 9.4 - currently have 9.053.

So my question is I am lookingg for a Canada or Canada USA map pack with ALG, but on the compatibility chart, it says there is some for my device, but not for the regions I want. Tomtom home says I should buy the 4097, but again on the compatibility chart, has no ALG.

Does this mean ALG is no longer available in N America? Or what else is going on?

I have a TT ONE New Edition which I've bought back in 2006. After putting up for so long with the frustration of not being able to use any of the new features of newer devices, I decided to update the navcore.
So, I downloaded the "8.415.one2009_plus.CAB-navcore-ONE" using the link posted in one of the discussions in this forum, which sent me to the TT download page (I think.... :-/ ).
Anyway, copied all files from the archive to the device and rebooted it.
The device seemed to be working but as I touch the screen all freezes and after 20 to 30 seconds it reboots itself and I haven't been able to change that behaviour; every time I touch the screen it freezes and then reboots.

Have I got the wrong navcore ?
Any help ?
