Ok, then the auto gps search may have incorrectly determined the baud rate.

Try cycling through the different baud rates, however bear in mind it can take up to twenty minutes to lock onto the satellites the first time.

You were right, there was a button in settings called Navi Path.

Tip: set baud as high as possible, but start low. On some devices, even if a high baud rate is recommended/normal/standard, 4800 or 9600 works better for some reason. Interference of some kind, perhaps?

After spending a few good hours, replacing 4 GPS antennas, and trying different baud values, the unit connected succesffully. The Navigation system is working thanks to you Fatboyfun and Nabi.

Many thanks

I guess I spoke to soon. As I was driving one afternoon the nav system was working good with full GPS signal, as I aproached the city the signal was lost. The only one way to retrieve my GPS signal was to remove the SD Card from its slot, select the MobileNavigator exe file, then set the GPS. It worked for a couple of times, but today I've tryied several times without any luck. Am I missing any GPS settings in the sys.txt? This is how the sys looks at the moment:

;[device]
;type="PPC"

[folders]
;app="%SDCARD%/iGO8"
;app="\sd card\iGO8"

[interface]
skin="ui_igo8"
vga=0
mapfontscale=100

[rawdisplay]
class="landscape"
highres=0
screen_x=800
screen_y=480

[debug]
skip_eula=1
enable_roadshadow=1

[map]
auto_nightmode=0

[msnd]
msnd.start=0

[gps]
port="2"
baud="9600"

After I select the exe MobileNavigator the next step would be to connect the GPS, right? I think somehow it doesnt lock in, and I am suspecting the sys.txt, but I could be wrong, thats why I am asking you what could be wrong, or what am I doing wrong.

Thank you

The fact it was working, then it just stopped points to a hardware problem, There are no settings within iGO that cause intermittent satellite loss.

I would check the antenna cable for breaks or weak points.

Is it the GPS Receiver that supplies 3-5V to the GPS antenna or there is a battery in the GPS antenna? I checked voltage at the back of the unit where the GPS connector is and there is nothing. The GPS aerial has a sticker on with a note saying voltage 3-5V. So, I am a bit confused about this.

Thanks

I would have thought the antenna is just like any other antenna and doesn't need any power.
