Didn't "click" anywhere it just launches spontaneously when I'm on the Navitotal site...but not always and whereas it previously launched only China TV, it's found something else. See my opening post.

And from the correspondence it seems I'm not alone in being troubled by these problems.

You're most definitely not alone. Whatever was embedded during the over enthusiastic attempt to put advertising on the site is still here and causing big problems with both IE and Firefox. I can also testify to sudden spontaneous redirection to Viagra and ChinaTV sites and on Firefox there is no 'fix' by using the back button (you just get instantly redirected again) making it impossible to browse at times. IE8 now constantly freezes with an error report that indicates a rogue add-on (which is not traceable) and is becoming unuseable on ANY site, not just this, though the problem began here. Firefox is constantly asking to install additional add-ons when on this site - no thanks! What was a very good site has unfortunately been made into a a complete mess.

The site has over 40000 members and only about ten report bugs.

I don't get these redirections - and I do spend a lot of time here. I use the latest FF, tried Opera 10.63 and IE8. No browser does redirect me. I visit using different locations (on workdays) and do not log in every time. As said: no redirects to those Viagra or ChinaTV sites, nor any other. I have to type the URL's in the address bar to visit those sites.

Considering all that: how sure are you the bug is on this site and this site only, not on your computer? Did you perform malware tests on your PC?

Today has been OK (up to now), yesterday I got a couple of re-directs, from which the back-arrow worked and one to china TV, which necessitates killing Firefox (3.6.12) and re-starting- All as detailed in post #32 by Macca-009.

Maybe nabi will experience the problems we are having - Malwarebytes and Microsoft Security Essentials report 'No problems' after updating and running full scans.

I haven't seen such redirect. So far none at all. So... that is why I thought it was malware. But now Capo has experienced it too.

A new site is now the redirection target - I've just been 'transported' to : [Please Register or Login to download file]

only 10 mins ago while reading NOT CLICKING, just READING a new post by Popeye, a moderator in the TomTom forum. Back-button is not effective and the only recourse is to close the browser.

And as you are slowly learning, this problem is NOT user dependant, it is problem 'local' to this site. It may be that it is prevented from execution by some of the malware/popup blockers, but it is also by-passing many of them!

It is also possible that it is only certain pages/areas of the site that are 'infected'. For example, ALL my experiences have been within the "TomTom" "General Discussions" section.
